The Team
Ruchie Farndon
Company Director
Rood Media is led by Director Ruchie Farndon, a young veteran of the music media
world who, before she started Rood, worked as an Account Director with Sliding Doors
Publicity, helping to turn that company into one of the entertainment industrys
most reputable agencies, handling accounts for artists, events, and labels including
Sony BMG, Universal, Roger Sanchez, BBC Radio Ones Judge Jules, Numark, Creamfields
and UDG. Roo, as she is more commonly known, has always had a sharp eye for art
and a keen ear for music. Having worked in record stores from the age of 16, her
music knowledge is vast and when coupled with a flair for writing, Roo was led into
the world of music PR. Roo's working knowledge of music and media has grown from
diverse areas such as getting down and dirty in a garden with Carol Vorderman, assisting
on the makeover show Better Home and Gardens, assisting on the BBC series World
Clubbing, photographing a naked male model and freelancing for publications including
Clash, Disorder, Notion and The Sun (Online). She maintains personal involvement
with all of Rood's clients.
Christopher Long
Marketing & Events Manager
Chris has a strong background in marketing and music. He started off as a promoter
running club nights and events for two years in Australia at some of Melbournes
premier hot spots, such as Seven and The Prince of Wales. During this period, he
managed to simultaneously progress his daytime career in the marketing department
of L'Oreal Australia, as the assistant brand manager of L'Oreal Paris Skincare.
After a year in this role, he travelled to London where he worked in the marketing
department of RCA (Sony BMG UK). Since then, Chris has had extensive experience
handling the marketing for a variety of major bands and brands, and has also been
involved in many UK music events, festivals and club nights.
Becki Haskins
Account Executive
After completing an undergraduate degree in Marketing and Psychology in Oxford, Becki went on to join one of the world’s leading PR agencies, Hill & Knowlton, where she worked on a plethora of high profile accounts including Samsung, Intel, Qualcomm and E45. Here she developed a strong understanding of the PR industry working across a range of the agencies business units. Becki’s passion for music and experience of working in various UK music events and club nights led her to Rood Media. When she’s not cooking up hearty vegetarian concoctions for her Rood colleagues, she can be found rolling around in the mud at various music festivals across the globe.
